Julia Knowles
KNOWLES, JULIA (nee Midgley)
Julia said good-bye on May 3rd, 2017. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert John in 1992. Julie leaves behind her sister Mae Lindemere; children April McLeod (Neil), Deborah Fleming (Alan), Michael Knowles (Dinney), Leslie Gould (Ron Ristan), and Peter Knowles Debbie); nine grandchildren; and eight great-grands.
Bright to the end, Julie was thankful for close to 95 years, all of which were spent on the North Shore where she was born and raised. Julie loved life and hated to miss out on the latest happenings. She was determined to live to see her newest greatgrandchild Jade Avery arrive into the world and to see who was going to win the latest US election. She also loved her home, cats, painting, books, sailing, “the lake”, every fower, and holidays in the early days of Mexico and Hawaii.
Special thanks to Deborah and Alan, who cared for her always. Thanks also to Michael, Dinney, Peter, and Debbie, who visited weekly and daily when she needed extended care, arriving with flowers, treats, and books to provide company and good conversation. Also special thanks to Anthony Fleming (Alisa) in Reno, Nevada, and Michelle Trent (Darren), Rebecca Knowles (Daniel Bergnach), and Robert Knowles (Steph Slinger) for their love and visits. Big thanks to staff at Inglewood Care Centre.
